MEET LEE
Born and raised in Moshi, 27-year-old Lee is one of those runners who reminds you why we run at all — to grow, to connect, and to discover who we truly are.
Lee’s journey began in 2020. No ambitions. No race dreams. Just the desire to connect — jogging with the Kilimanjaro Runners crew a couple of times a week.
But one step led to another…
From his first half marathon, to a 3:46 debut marathon, to breaking 3 hours with a 2:50 finish in 2025.
But that’s not what impresses us most.
It’s the way he shows up — consistently, with joy, curiosity, and heart.
As Lee says:
“Running connects me with many good people.”
We’re proud to call him one of our first local beats for THE KILIMANJARO RUNCIDENT. He won’t just guide you — he’ll remind you why you started.

ITINERARY
DAY 01_ Welcome to Moshi, Tanzania!
Touch down in Moshi, where the air is as fresh as your dreams and the views of Mount Kilimanjaro are more inspiring than your last motivational meme. Meet your fellow running fanatics over a welcome dinner. Don’t worry, we won’t make you run just yet. Tonight, it’s all about carbo-loading and bad jokes!
Day 02_ Kilimanjaro Marathon Madness
Rise and shine! It’s marathon day. Whether you’re doing the full marathon, the half marathon, or the “I’m just here for the selfies” run, today you’ll conquer the race with Kilimanjaro majestically cheering you on. Finish line? More like the start of epic bragging rights.
Day 03_ Safari or Bust – Off to Tsavo, Kenya!
Recover from your marathon glory with a leisurely morning in Moshi. Then it’s time to cross into Kenya and head to Tsavo National Park. Get ready for a night of luxury safari-style accommodation. Don’t worry, the only thing you’ll be running from tonight is the buffet table.
Day 04_ Off to Wildlife Wonderland
Today, we trade in our running shoes for safari hats. Hop on our game drive and keep your eyes peeled for the “Big Five.” Warning: sighting a lion may result in uncontrollable roars of excitement. Instagram is about to get wild!
Say goodbye to the savannah and hello to the scenic Taita Hills. After checking in, join the locals for a run through these stunning landscapes. It’s like your usual run, but with better views and possibly a giraffe or two cheering you on.
Day 06-07_ Coastal Chill in Diani Beach
You’ve run marathons, gone on safaris, and now it’s time to chill. Head to Diani Beach for some well-deserved relaxation. Lounge on the pristine sands, take a dip in the Indian Ocean, or try your hand at some beach volleyball (don’t worry, it’s okay to lose to the locals).
Another day in paradise! Continue to unwind or explore the local culture. Try some Swahili cuisine, go snorkeling, or just work on your tan. Pro tip: “Hakuna Matata” is not just a saying, it’s a way of life here.
All good things must come to an end… but not just yet! We head back to Nairobi, where you can do some last-minute shopping, sightseeing, and savor one final group dinner. Share stories, swap photos, and maybe plan your next adventure.
Time to say goodbye to new friends and the incredible memories made. Head to the airport for your journey home, with a heart full of adventure and a suitcase full of souvenirs (and maybe some Kenyan coffee).
